Remaining Saturday sporting events postponed due to storm

Winter Storm Nemo has claimed the two remaining major high school sporting events that were on Saturday's local schedule.

Both the Eastern Class A girls' hockey semifinal between No. 2 Lewiston and No. 3 Leavitt/Edward Little at Androscoggin Bank Colisee and the KVAC track and field championship at Bowdoin College have been postponed.

The girls' hockey game now will be played at 8:10 p.m. Monday as part of a doubleheader at the Lewiston rink.

Monday's previously scheduled boys' game between Thornton and Lewiston has been moved up one hour to 6:10 p.m. to accommodate the change.

At this time, no date and time have been announced for KVAC track. The league is hoping to secure the availability of a facility.

State cheerleading in Bangor, KVAC and MVC skiing at Black Mountain in Rumford, KVAC swimming at Bowdoin already had been moved to Monday.

Saturday's scheduled state wrestling meet in Augusta was postponed one week to sites in Sanford, Fryeburg and Dover-Foxcroft.
