SOUTH PORTLAND (AP) — South Portland police are investigating after a woman said she left her $10,000 diamond engagement ring in a city tanning salon.
Elise Cassidy said she took off the nearly two carat ring during a recent tanning session, then forgot to put it back on before she left. When she returned to the salon a short time later, the ring was gone.
Cassidy, who's getting married in a few weeks, said she was "heartbroken."
Police told WGME-TV that they are looking into the possibility that an employee at Sun Tan City took the ring. Police say no other clients used the booth after Cassidy and one employee took an unusually long break soon after Cassidy left. Sun Tan City officials had no comment.

Engagement Ring
This woman obviously had no common sence in the first place, to wear a ring as expensive as this to a place frequented by who knows who. It is nobodys fault but her own. She should have left her ring at home if she knew she was going there.
