AUGUSTA (AP) — An Augusta man suspected in a series of house breaks has been arrested as he tried to leave the state.
Police said 20-year-old Michael Marro was apprehended last weekend at the Augusta State Airport as he attempted to buy a bus ticket.
He was ordered held on $10,000 at his initial court appearance on Monday.
The Kennebec Journal reported that police allege Marro admitted breaking into a total of 10 homes between July and October. He faces charges in seven of the break-ins and could face charges in the other three.
Police said among the items stolen were power tools, and electronics. Authorities said Marro pawned the items and used the cash to buy clothes, a cellphone, and other items.
