Maine gas prices fall 5 cents in past week

PORTLAND (AP) — Gas prices in Maine have fallen by a nickel a gallon in the past week.

Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that gas dropped to an average of $3.88 per gallon in Maine in the past week.

Prices are now about 14 cents a gallon lower than a month ago, but 35 cents higher than a year ago.

Nationally, gas prices fell about 3 cents in the past week, to an average off $3.77 a gallon.
