SOUTH PORTLAND — A Gray man is facing multiple charges stemming from a robbery at a South Portland restaurant in February, police said.
Ryan Bell, 25, was arrested at his home Wednesday morning, according to South Portland police Sgt. Steve Webster.
Bell’s arrest completes a nine-month investigation of the Feb. 20 incident at On the Border on Maine Mall Road, according to Webster. Two men entered the ear of the business shortly after closing and assaulted an employee before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Even though the investigation initially stalled due to a lack of leads, new information was gathered recently and led to Bell’s arrest, Webster said.
Bell was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and theft, all felonies, the sergeant said. He is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $100,000 bail.
The investigation continues, and Bell is due in court Friday.
