Final recount from Maine election set for Monday

AUGUSTA (AP) — State election officials will conduct the final recount of ballots from the Nov. 6 election.

Officials on Monday were holding a recount in the Piscataquis County commissioner's race between Democrat Donald Crossman and Republican Frederick Trask. Trask was 10 votes ahead of Crossman on Election Day.

A recount had also been scheduled Monday afternoon in the House District 51 race between Democrat Michael Devin and Republican Alan Pinkham, but Pinkham withdrew his request for a recount.

Devin was 91 votes ahead of Pinkham on Election Day. District 51 covers Bristol, Damariscotta, Edgecomb, Newcastle, South Bristol and Monhegan Plantation.
