SKOWHEGAN (AP) — A Norridgewock man is going on trial for the fatal shooting of an Anson man three years ago.
The murder trial of 41-year-old Robert Nelson begins Monday in Skowhegan.
Nelson has pleaded not guilty to fatally shooting 60-year-old Everett Cameron while Cameron was parked in his pickup truck on a dirt path in Anson. Police have not filed an affidavit in the case, but Cameron's family members two years ago said they thought his death was connected to the sale of prescription medication.
Nelson has waived his right to a jury trial, so the case will be decided by Justice John Nivison.
Prosecutors told the Morning Sentinel the trial is expected to last this week and possibly into the next.
