LEWISTON — Jeannette E. Gagnon, 93, of Lewiston died peacefully on Saturday July 7, at her residence.
She was born in Auburn, Sept. 10, 1918, the daughter of Louis Sr. and Alphonsine (Emond) Larose and had been a resident of this community all of her life.
Jeannette was employed for many years as a stitcher in the local shoe industry until her retirement in 1981.
She was married to Theodul Binette and they both enjoyed the outdoors hunting, camping and fishing.
Following the death of her first husband, she married John A. Gagnon on Nov. 17, 1984; and he died on Feb. 4, 2003. Together they enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. She cared for them both through long illnesses as a devoted and steadfast wife.
She remained engaged and managed her affairs. She was a daily newspaper reader, a thoughtful friend and devoted aunt, catholic and constant wife.
She is survived by her dear friends, Mary Jordan and her husband, Charlie, of Lewiston and Jean Baril and her husband, Dick, of Lewiston; many loving nieces and nephews from Maine to Virginia; and her kitty, Peanut.
Besides her two husbands, she was predeceased by five sisters; and three brothers.
