KINGFIELD — Frank M. Niles, 91, of Kingfield, formerly of Danvers, Mass., died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 20, at his home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1920, in Kingfield, the third son of six children born to Clinton and Ruth (Norton) Niles. He attended schools in New Portland and Kingfield.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served during World War II as a propeller specialist.
On Aug. 22, 1942, he married Gloria Doucette. They traveled throughout New England, New York and Pennsylvania, as he worked construction with the upstate New York Operating Engineers Local 832.
Frank was a member of the Van Rensselaer Masonic Lodge 0087 of East Greenbush, N.Y., for more than 50 years.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria, Nov. 15, 2010; brothers, Clarence “Pete” Donald and Lawrence; and sisters, Cora and Arlene.
