HEBRON — Anne Teresa Piippo died on Monday, Oct. 1, in Hebron.
She was born in Hancock, Mich., Feb. 7, 1911, to Daniel and Aino (Lahto) Piippo. She attended schools in Harrison and Hebron, before graduating from Buckfield High School in 1928, and from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1933 in Boston.
After serving in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during World War II, she lived and worked in Southern California for many years, before returning to Maine, when she retired. Anne was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Paris, the Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine and the South Paris Lake Thompson Senior Citizens Club.
Anne is survived by her sister, Vera Piippo of Hebron; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Helmi Gustavson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Regina Moriarty of Los Angeles, and Alma Quittman of South Hampton, Pa.; and her brothers, Arthur Piippo of Hebron and Reino Piippo of Brunswick.
