Aurore Mercier

AUBURN — Aurore Mercier, 91, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

She was born Aug. 31, 1921, at Saint-Quentin, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Abel and Angeline (Desjardin) Martin. She was educated in Lewiston schools and had been employed in local textile and shoe industries.

“Ora” married the love of her life, Valmont Mercier, on May 18, 1946, who predeceased her earlier this year. After retirement, she and “Val” enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. She enjoyed reading and cooking and was an accomplished seamstress.

Aurore is survived by her son, John and his wife, Debbie; her son, Bob; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Jim, Lauren and Lindsay; and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jacob, Carter, Ella, Coleman and Julia.
