WESTBROOK — Estella T. Richardson, 103, of Westbrook died at her home, Thursday, Nov. 1.
She was born in South Paris, June 22, 1909, the daughter of Hiram E. and Lula Perry Thurlow. She graduated from Paris High School in 1927, and married George “Oscar” Richardson, Sept. 1, 1929. She had been a homemaker throughout her life.
She moved to Westbrook with her family in 1941, where she worked at S.D. Warren for a short time and for the Zayre’s Corp. for 15 years before retiring in 1974.
She was a member and Past Noble Grand of Mt. Pleasant Rebekah Lodge in South Paris and a member of the Westbrook Universalist Church since 1950, where she belonged to the Townsend Club and the AUW.
She was a former member of the Paris Grange and the South Paris Mother’s Club. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, flower gardens, knitting and sewing as well as making crafts for craft fairs.
She is survived by three grandsons, Darrell Richardson and his wife, Cathy, Burton Richardson and his wife, Jan and Raymond Richardson; two granddaughters, Lorna Joy and her husband, Gary and Judith Martineau; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Richardson, who was the second wife of her son Wayne; nine great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; a niece Zillah Morse and her husband, Dan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1969; a son, Wayne in 2000; and a great-granddaughter, Mary.
