AUBURN — Wendell Scott Burgess, 55, a resident of Packard Road, Monmouth, died Thursday, Nov. 8, at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House of Auburn.
He was born Aug. 22, 1957, in Lewiston, the son of Guy, Jr. and Pauline Wing Burgess.
Wendell attended the Leeds schools and Leavitt Area High School.
He was a self-employed carpenter and a self-taught entrepreneur and inventor. Wendell enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Burgess of Leeds; the love of his life, his wife, Vickie of Monmouth; his daughter, Heather Pelletier and husband, Michael, of Wales; three sons, Wendell “Scott” Burgess Donnell and wife, Martina, of Lewiston, Jason Burgess Donnell of Portland and Francis Burgess and companion, Kaniha Newell, of Perry; a step-daughter, Melisa Payne and husband, James, of Monmouth; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Murphy of Leeds, Francine Willette and husband, Alan, of Durham, and Rhonda McKinney and husband, Fred, of Richmond; a brother, Randall Burgess and wife, Valerie, of Leeds; and several nieces and nephews.
