Lucy A. Prince

LEWISTON — Lucy A. Prince, 89, formerly of College Street, Lewiston, died Monday, Nov. 19, at Marshwood Nursing Facility.

She was born in Lewiston on April 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Arthur and Albertine (Houle) Girardin. She was educated in local schools and attended Lewiston High School. She worked for local shoe shops and retired from The Maine Stamping Co.

Lucy married the love of her life, Fernand L. Prince, on Sept. 12, 1944, and he predeceased her April 4, 2002.

Lucy was a member The Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50. She enjoyed boating, fishing, lobster and family gatherings. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.

She leaves her two sons, Richard Prince of Farmington and Roger Prince and his wife, Linda, of Auburn; five grandchildren, Steven Prince of South Carolina, Brian Prince and his wife, Joanne, of Ohio, Kevin Prince of South Carolina, Kathy Hammond and her husband, Cameron, of Farmington, and Cindy Coulombe of Farmington; six great grandchildren, Trevor and Brandon Coulombe, Miranda and Eliot Prince, and Lucien and Emily Hammond; two sisters, Rita Culliton, and Georgette Belanger and her husband, Bertrand, of Lewiston, a sister-in-law, Muriel Girardin; a brother-in-law, Bill Berube; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Joan Prince; sisters Cecile Girardin, Katie Berube, Muriel Girardin, Henrietta Gray, Theresa Girardin, Lorette Girardin and Jean Girardin; and brothers, Romeo (Tom), Bert, Mike, and Bob.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff at the Eliot House at Marshwood for the wonderful care given to Lucy while she was there.
