HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Jacques Victor Belanger, 66, passed away peacefully Dec. 27, from a long illness.

He was born in Paris, France, but came to Lewiston, as a young boy. He spent the last month of his life in Florida, with his daughter, Michelle.
Jacques was born July 21, 1946. He went to Holy Cross School and later served in the Army. He was a self-employed truck driver for 42 years and enjoyed the last few years in a new truck that brought him much joy.
Boating was his passion as was cooking and exploring new sights. He was often known for the “10 cent tour” which led to many an adventure. He was quick to laugh and battled with his luck. Many have heard him say, “if it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all!” He took a lot of his setbacks in stride and had a tenacious will to live that carried him through the challenges of the past year.
He is survived by his companion, Lee Steele; daughter, Michelle Belanger; a sister, Murielle Houle; and two nephews, Marcel and Daniel Houle.
He was predeceased by parents, Rose and Reginald Belanger; and children, Aimee and Anthony.
