FARMINGTON — Frank “Mitty” Milton Stevens, 80, of Strong, died on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Strong, the son of Frank Russell and Hazel Jane (Kershner) Stevens. He was educated in the schools of Strong and graduated from Strong High School, Class of 1952.
On Aug. 13, 1953, he married Audrey Marion Huff in Strong. He was employed by Harry Gordon, Lawrence Cook, Isacson Lumber in Livermore Falls, retiring in 1995.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict being stationed in Berlin, Germany. He was a life member and past commander of the Johnson Cox Post 78 American Legion and a member of the Strong United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Audrey Stevens of Strong; one son, Lynn Stevens and wife, Evelyn, of Strong; two daughters, Sherry Keaton and husband, Darian, of South Paris and Darcy Stevens of Mattapoisett, Mass.; his grandchildren, Allison Skinner and husband, Kyle, of Norway, Matthew Stevens and wife, Dene, of Strong and Ryan Stevens of North Carolina; his great-grandchildren, Braeden and Kerrigan Skinner of Norway, Kyler Kilgore of Norway and Mason Stevens of Strong; his two sisters, Dawn Pratt of Strong and Betty Snell and husband, Leslie, of Strong; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his brothers, Russell and Marshall Stevens.
