LOS ANGELES — Cathy E. Pomerleau Benitz, 47, of Camarillo, Calif., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Keck Hospital of USC, Los Angeles, after a brave eight-month-battle with leukemia.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 26, 1966, the daughter of Barbara Pomerleau Skidgel.
Cathy was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1984. She moved to California in 1985 where she met and married Glenn Benitz on May 16, 1987.
Cathy was-a-stay at home mom and proudly raised her two daughters, the loves of her life, Samantha, 22 and Kelly, 15.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sam and Kelly; her mother Barbara Skidgel of Lewiston; sisters, Tina Sandford, and her husband, Michael, of Oxnard, Calif., and Tracie Dubois and her husband, Travis, of Lewiston; her brothers Michael Pomerleau and his wife, Debbie, of Buxton, and John Pomerleau, and his wife, Tracy, of Culpeper, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
