LEWISTON — Karen H. Hayes, 53, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 21, at her residence, with her family by her side.
She was born in Farmington, Dec. 19, 1959, the daughter of the late Roland and Claire (Veilleux) Parlin and had been a resident of this community for most of her life.
For the past 10 years, she stayed at home and cared for her grandchildren. Karen enjoyed reading, traveling, camping in New Hampshire, and socializing with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Hayes Jr., whom she married on June 28, 1980 of Lewiston; one son, Sean M. Hayes of Portsmouth, N.H.; one daughter, Kristin L. Bedard and her husband, Roland, of Lewiston; one brother, Kenneth Parlin and his wife, Susan, of Salem; one sister, Kelly Lachance and her husband, Jamie, of Greene; three grandchildren, Jordan Bedard, Ethan Hayes and Aubrey Bedard; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Kevin Parlin.
