Leroy 'Bud' Cook

FREEMAN — Leroy "Bud" Edgar Cook, 84, of Freeman, died Feb. 4, at home, with his family by his side.

Leroy 'Bud' Cook

He was born in Freeman, June 25, 1928, the son of Leroy and Myrtice (Goldsmith) Cook. He was a lumberman and farmer most of his life in Freeman. He loved riding in Jeffy with Neil looking for game.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed horse pulling, fairs, camping, fishing and going out on the lobster boat. Bud always had a smile on his face and everyone loved and called him “Uncle Bud,” especially down at the Beedy Camp. He liked to cut bushes on Allen’s Pinacle. He loved spending time and doing things with his special nephew, Keith.

He is survived by his sisters, Betty Elliott of Farmington, Cheryl Leavitt of Portland and Lillian Tawney of Farmington; his niece and guardian, Simone Brewer and husband, Neil, (with whom he lived) of Freeman; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Silas Cook; and his sister, Barbara Peterson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Karen and Bonnie.
