James L. Owens Jr.

AUBURN — James L. Owens Jr., 89, a resident of Clover Living Center in Auburn, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 5.

He was a retired firefighter and World War II combat veteran. He had lived in Maine for 15 years.

He is survived by two sons, William Fisher of Chadds Ford, Pa., and James L. Owens III of Gardiner; three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Vicki Owens of New Gloucester.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Birdalyn, Feb. 7, 2011.
