SOUTH PARIS — Norman R. Cyr, 84, of South Paris, passed away very peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Maine Veterans Home.
He was born in Madawaska on Jan. 14, 1929, son of Larry and Claire (Martin) Cyr. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Dot (Shaw) from Norway and Norm from Madawaska met and married in Guatemala in 1958. They celebrated their golden anniversary on May 30, 2008.
A graduate of Bentley College, he worked many years for different factories, the last being the American Fruit Co. as an accountant. He was a member of the Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Jo Cyr of Mutty, Mass., Susan Cyr of Nevada and Robert E. Cyr of California; brother, Normand Cyr; sister, Juliette Grandmaison; and two grandchildren, Aron and Sarah.
