We're ringing a giant cow bell for Dan Campbell for organizing the first Lake Auburn Half Marathon Sunday.
More than 300 have signed up for the event, and more are expected to pedal the bicycle route or run its 5k and walk in the 4k.
Taber's will be open during the event while expos will be held at Lost Valley on Sunday and at Lamey Wellehan near the Auburn Mall the day before when people may register and pick up their event packets.
The bike tour kicks things off at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, with the other events to follow. The morning will require some patience on the part of local drivers as the runners, bicyclists and walkers complete the course.
The half marathon is a great idea, and the kind of event that not only draws people to our community but that makes this a fuller, richer place for us all.
