PARIS — The Paris Board of Selectmen meets Monday night at the town office.
The board will consider amending the traffic ordinance and discuss board issues, including amending selectman bylaws to clarify “good cause” needed for a selectman to abstain from a vote.
Clarification of employees' holiday pay is also up for discussion. At the Jan. 17 selectmen's workshop, there was a long discussion over how town employees should be paid for overtime.
The board will also consider the right-of-way issue involving the private railroad crossing near the town gravel pits, which is part of the X-Tra Mile ATV Club's trail system. E.C.I. Materials owner David Everett had been posting “No ATVs” signs at the crossing to protect himself from liability, while the X-Tra Mile ATV Club is seeking its own crossing rights.
The board is looking into whether they are allowed to block or grant usage rights near the gravel pit.
