NORWAY — A free mapping and compass workshop will be held at the Alan Day Community Garden from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 1.

Leslie H. Dixon/Sun Journal

Participants learn mapping and compass skills at a recent free workshop at the Alan Day Community Garden on Whitman Street in Norway.

This is the sixth in a series of free workshops centered around mapping and held at the community garden at 26 Whitman St.

Alex Miller will lead the workshop. The public is welcome to attend and learn how to create an accurate to scale map using their own walking pace and a compass. Participants can use these skills in the community to map other properties.
