Dogs and their owners participate in the 5K race at Roberts Preserve in Norway last year. Another race is set for Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Norway center.
NORWAY — A 5k run for fit dogs and fit owners, and mushers is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Roberts Farm Preserve. It will be held after the season finale time 5k run series on the grass trail at the preserve on Roberts Road.
There will also be a 2K dog walk with proceeds benefiting Responsible Pet Care's new animal shelter campaign.
Timing will be by Back40 Timing.
Mushers and fit dog/owner teams are invited for the 5K run. Aggressive dogs are not encouraged.
Dogs should be on a leash, bungee line, or in a harness. It is preferred that canines are attached to their owners via a hip or waist belt. There will be limited canine cool-down water at the site, dog owners should bring drinking water for their pets.
The entry fee is $10 for adult runners and canine-cross competitors; $5 for Viking cross country team runners. Prizes will be awarded.
