Two indicted in Big Apple robbery

PARIS — An Oxford County grand jury indicted two men Friday on charges of robbing the Big Apple store in Canton this past May.

Edward Barbioni Jr., 30, of Jay is charged with one count of robbery. Alexander K. Ryerson, 20, of Livermore Falls, faces charges of robbery, theft and violation of condition of release.

On May 20, two men entered the store at 19 Turner St., showed the clerk a handgun and took cash and cigarettes.

On May 26, Jay police, Oxford County deputies and the Maine State Police Tactical Team surrounded a three-story apartment building at 77 Knapp St. in Jay at about 4 a.m. They arrested Barbioni and Ryerson and charged them with the robbery.

Ryerson is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
