A Ford dumptruck owned and driven by Daniel Smith, 52, of Buckfield, overturned after sliding on Route 117 on Thursday, Maine State Police Trooper Thomas Welch said. Welch said Smith was heading toward Paris when he lost traction, spun around and ended up in a ditch. Smith wasn't injured and was able to drive away, Welch said, but the dump body was damaged.
