The trails on Roberts Preserve received a fresh coat of snow this week, making them perfect for another biathlon contest Saturday.

The Southern Maine Biathlon Club and the Conservation School at Bryant Pond are supplying five air rifles and targets.

Registration and practice will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Two races will follow:  3 x 1K race for 10- to 16-year-old competitors and a 3 x 2K competition for those 18 years and older.

There is no charge for this training event but donations are welcomed.
