RUMFORD — Selectmen on Thursday will take up their discussion from last month on whether to restrict parking along Hancock Street to one side only.
At issue is the stretch from Lincoln Avenue to Mountain Valley High School and safety when vehicles are parked on either side of the road.
At the board's Oct. 20 meeting, Selectman Brad Adley said he would like to hear what police and Public Works officials have to say about the matter. The board also wants to hear from residents living in the area and their concerns for safety.
Other agenda items for the 7 p.m. meeting Nov. 3 in Rumford Falls Auditorium include appointing an animal control officer alternate, approving the annual town report bid and a Christmas in the Valley Parade for the Rumford Firemen's Relief.
In other business, Rumford is updating and revising its comprehensive plan and is seeking people to serve on a Comprehensive Plan Committee.
Those interested must complete a Candidate Information Sheet, which is available online at www.rumfordmaine.net or at the town manager's office. The forms must be returned to the town manager's office by Tuesday, Nov. 15.
