Envision Rumford! to pitch zip line to Rumford board

RUMFORD — Economic development group Envision Rumford! will meet with Rumford selectmen at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, in the Rumford Falls Auditorium.

The group, which is trying to make Rumford a zip-line mecca, will conduct a presentation.

The board's regular meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag, a moment of silence will be held for Newtown, Conn., according to the agenda.

Under old business, Jim Rinaldo will provide the board with an update on the proposed Rumford mountain bike trail project.

Under new business, Bob Anderson of the Greater Rumford Community Center is to provide an update on the center.

Other agenda items include:

* The appointment of a police officer.

* An update on the property maintenance code by Code Enforcement Officer Rick Kent.

* A personal property abatement request from tax collector Thomas B. Bourret.

* Routine approvals of annual taxi cab licenses for Road Hog Express and Mountain Valley Taxi Service, a proposed Texas hold 'em tournament for Rumford Area Rotary, and a liquor license and special amusement permit for Rumford Lodge of Elks 862.
