MEXICO – The Police Department responded to 37 incidents over the past week. Among them were the following:
Thefts
* A Dix Avenue resident reported at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 22 that between 4 and 6 p.m. that day someone entered her house and stole an undisclosed amount of prescription medication. Police have a suspect.
* A Chase Avenue resident reported at 8:38 p.m. Jan. 20 that somebody stole their green 1996 GMC Sierra pickup while it was parked on Roxbury Road. It was last seen heading north on Roxbury Road. Police have suspects.
Accidents
* On Jan. 16, police responded to three accidents related to weather conditions. At 2:42 p.m., a Subaru car driven by Sarah Johnson of Bryant Pond was driving east on Main Street when it slid across the road to avoid a car and hit a no parking sign. The transmission lines on Johnson's car were damaged and the car had to be towed.
At 2:52 p.m., a Ford Taurus driven by Albah Larsen of Dixfield was traveling east on River Road when the slush pulled the car into the opposite lane, causing it to crash into a snowbank near Water Road. There was no damage to the car.
At 3:59 p.m., a Dodge Durango driven by Katie Ricci of Roxbury was headed east down Highland Terrace when the slush pulled it into a ditch, causing damage to the right front.
