AUBURN — The Joe Graziano Scholarship awards were presented to two students in the culinary arts program at Central Maine Community College. The awards were presented to Miriam M. Jordon and Nicklas A. Smith at the annual family and friends banquet held at the college on May 3.

The dinner was planned and prepared by the culinary students. The guest speaker was Tom Jannarone, who shared memories about the life of Joe Graziano, who owned and operated Graziano Restaurant for many years. Jannarone noted that these scholarships are presented on an annual basis to keep alive Graziano's legacy of "love through food."
Special thanks and congratulations were extended to Donald J. Rossignol, chairperson of the culinary arts program. Rossignol is retiring after more than 40 years of service as a driving force behind the program.
The culinary arts program at CMCC is a one-year certificate program to prepare students for employment in the food service industry. Students can elect to earn an associate degree in business administration with a concentration in hospitality management. For more information, call 755-5273.
