Well done - Angela Fouquette

CASTINE – Angela Fouquette of New Gloucester was recently named a Henry A. Scheel Scholar, along with 11 other students, at Maine Maritime Academy. The academic honor is awarded to those students who best exemplify intellectual curiosity and academic achievement. The honor was presented at the college’s annual Celebration of Achievement held Nov. 10 on the campus of the college.

The late Mr. Scheel, a resident of Rockport, was one of America's most respected naval architects and yacht designers. He produced more than 250 complete designs utilized by builders of sailboats and other craft in the United States and Europe. To express his high regard for Maine Maritime Academy, Scheel left funds to permanently endow scholarships for outstanding students.

Fouquette, a graduate of Cheverus High School, Portland, is a member of the class of 2013. She is majoring in marine systems engineering – license track.
