CNA pinning ceremony held

Lewiston Adult Education’s Summer Certified Nursing Assistant class gathered on Aug. 29 to celebrate completing the course and successfully passing the Maine state exam. From left are Christina Chase-Swan, Jakayla Botelho, Edmond Jalbert, Ashely Giguere, Rory Chisholm-Drane, Rachel Giguere, Amy Pelletier and Kayla Christian. Once the students finished the classroom portion of the course, they participated in a full-time, two-week clinical experience at local hospitals and nursing homes. At the ceremony, the participants received their CNA certificate and pin. At the celebration, participants also had the opportunity to network with representatives from local health care employers. The CNAs also had the opportunity to get support as they worked on their resumes and cover letters. By early September, at least three members of the class had already secured jobs. For more information on upcoming sessions of the CNA course, call Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141.
