N.H. soldier killed in Iraq bombing


MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A soldier from Manchester was killed this week in a roadside bombing in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Army Spc. Toby Olsen, 28, was killed Saturday in the bombing in Karma, Iraq, along with three other soldiers, the department said. An explosive device went off near their Humvee.

The soldiers were assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, in Fort Richardson, Alaska.

As of Tuesday, at least 3,064 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003.
