N.H. wants $1M from feds for mill

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – The state is applying for a $1 million federal grant to help workers being laid off from the Berlin pulp mill.

New Hampshire’s Workforce Opportunity Council is seeking the grant to support a worker assistance center established for mill workers and their families.

The center will help them seek new jobs and provide career counseling services. The Fraser Papers pulp mill closes May 6.
