N.J. man dies in ski crash


KILLINGTON, Vt. (AP) – A Fairfield, N.J., man died Monday after skiing off a trail at Killington and hitting several trees.

Witnesses said Pat Pallotta, 21, was skiing at a high rate speed and appeared to lose control.

Pallotta was conscious after the accident and able to respond but then lost consciousness and did not recover, police said.

Pallotta was pronounced dead in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
