Outlaws top Argo in Auburn playoffs

AUBURN - Harbor Landscape captured the recent USSSA Class E State men's softball tournament in Auburn.
Harbor Landscape started off the day with a 17-5 before losing 9-6 to Rising Sun. That set up a long day for Harbor, which needed seven consecutive victories to win the tourney.
Seven hours after the defeat, Harbor defeated Sun twoce, 17-2 and 11-8, to take top honors. Shawn Sabine earned the MVP Award for the day for Harbor Landscape. Brad Boyle was Co-MVP from Rising Sun. Danny's Landscape from Lewiston took third in the tournament.
Harbor Landscape, Danny's Landscape, Maine Sports 55 and Irish Twins Pub all earned berths and plan to compete in the World tournament being held at the Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., Sept. 24-27.
Players from Harbor Landscape are Dave Barter, Brian Carver, Kevin Cusson, Jeremy Fleurent, Brian Harvey, Kyle Leavitt, Jan Martin, Tim Masse, Erik Matzell, Will Moulton, Ryan Poissonier, Shawn Sabine and John Valore.

Outlaws 10, Argo 5
AUBURN - Dan Erickson and James Bixby each went 3-for-3, with Bixby driving in two runs to power the Outlaws to a 10-5 victory over Team Argo in a second-round Auburn Players League softball playoff matchup.
Greg Brochu, Jeff Roy and Ernie May each were 2-for-3 with a combined six RBIs, three by Brochu. Jason Halacy was 1-for-2 and Reggie Emery 1-for-3, each with a run knocked in.
Ryan Pleau provided some terrific catches in left field. Hunter Erickson, Roy and Keith Wright also provided a defensive boost.
Assassins 8, NAPA 5
AUBURN - Assassins knocked off NAPA Auto Parts, 8-5, in Auburn Players League softball action. Perry Morneau was 4-for-4 for the Assassins. Justin Juray added three hits in support of winning pitcher Jim Small. Zack Gross and Dee Starks notched multiple hits for NAPA.
