Lawrence Yeaton, 78, of Farmington said Monday that his milking days are over at his farm on Whittier Road, where his two empty silos lean. He said someone visited recently and told him people are taking bets on when they'll fall. Yeaton said he told them they won't come down until he takes them down, maybe this fall. The dairy farmer said cows have been milked at the farm for 51 years, and he did his last one Saturday.

verified What a shame to see one more working farm shut down. It is the same old story of no one being able to continue on when the farmer has to retire. Good luck to the Yeaton's in their retirement.
