AUBURN - Meineke Car Care stayed alive in the consolation bracket of the Auburn Players League East softball postseason with wins over Kung Pow and Interstate Battery.
First in line was Kung Pow in a six-inning game at Tribou Field. Meineke took advantage early on with Mike and Brad O'Connor hooking up for a father-and-son hit-and-run duo. Scott Albert and Ryan Wilson followed to close the door on Pow.
The second game featured some great defense for Meineke in a 6-1 victory. Gary Chapman led the way with a big-league catch in center field. Chapman also had a good night at the plate. Greg Rose and Bob Sawyer kept things going with solid base hits. John Langelier was the winning pitcher and helped himself out with a couple of hits.
