Charles A. Phaneuf
1929 - 2009
LIVERMORE — Charles A. Phaneuf unexpected departure on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the family's Livermore camp has left us feeling lost. However, we are comforted that dad left as he desired - quickly.
He was born June 3, 1928, to Albert and Gratia Phaneuf in Boston, Mass.
Chuck was recognized as an electronics genius from an early age. Since the early 1950s, he has worked with hi-fi greats such as H.H. Scott, Frank McIntosh and Henry Kloss. His electronics and sound designs speak for themselves.
In 1954, he met Sally in the Tufts University Arena and they were married Nov. 26, 1955. She predeceased him in 2004. Four children eventually followed. Dana, Natalie (Michael), Matthew (Gloria), and Peter (Juliet).
He led a full and productive life, from his service in the Marine Corps to his theatre contributions as sound master at both The Born Theatre and The Pineapple Playhouse.
Additionally, he has touched the lives of many, both in Florida and Maine, since meeting Bill W. in the late 1980s.
Generous and kind, he will be fondly remembered by his five grandchild, Matthew, Billy, Catherine, Grace, and Zoe.
Words cannot express the depth of our sadness. But earth's loss is heaven's gain. Be on the lookout for the electronic wizardry of Bunky Phaneuf - if anyone can figure out how to "titravate" from the great beyond, it will be Chuck! Semper Fidelis.
