SALISBURY, Mass. (AP) — Authorities are investigating whether alcohol, speed or the weather were factors in a boating accident at the mouth of the Merrimack River that left a New Hampshire man missing.
The Essex district attorney's office has identified the missing man as 36-year-old Seth Coellner of Kensington, N.H. He was one of four men on the 37-foot recreational boat when it struck a jetty near Salisbury Beach at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
Dive teams have been searching for Coellner.
The three New Hampshire men who survived the accident are Mark Baillargeon of Newmarket, Jacob Clark of Hampton, and Russell Hilliard of Hampton Falls. Baillargeon was hospitalized with a back injury.
Investigators are trying to determine who was operating the boat when it hit the jetty.
