Polish your resume. Focus on skills and accomplishments, not a list of responsibilities at each job.
Use your network. A personal referral can be very helpful, especially if it's from someone who knows your work.
Target your search. If you apply for too many different positions with one organization, you'll look like you don't know what you want.
How to format a resume
Use text format for e-mailing or posting a resume online.
Don't use bullets, lines, boldface, italics or underlined text.
Use asterisks, dashes and capital letters if you need to highlight part of your resume.
If you post your resume online, don't put too much personal information in it.
