St. Mary's executive named fellow

CHICAGO - Rene L. Dumont, vice president of Planning and Marketing at Sisters of Charity Health System in Lewiston, has advanced to fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international society representing nearly 30,000 health care executives.

The announcement was made at the executives' convocation ceremony during the organization's annual Congress on Healthcare Management. Fellow status is the highest level of professional achievement in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

To obtain fellow status, candidates must demonstrate their education, experience, and leadership in the health care field over a period of several years.

They must also complete a significant project on a subject related to health care management.

At Sisters of Charity Health System, Dumont is a division leader of strategic planning, marketing, community relations, education, and the health sciences library. He has served as chief planner for the system for the past 11 years.

A Lewiston native, Dumont received his bachelor's degree from Tufts University and his master's degree in business administration from Boston University. He and his family reside in Auburn.
