RANGELEY - An Avon man faces charges after a kayak was reported missing from a job site in Oquossoc and so was he.
Larry Thomas, 20, was issued a summons on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property, Rangeley police Chief Dennis Leahy said Friday.
A construction company owner noticed a kayak was missing from a garage of a camp that his crew was working on Thursday and that an employee was gone too, he said.
The company owner called Rangeley police to report the situation, Leahy said.
The chief caught up with Thomas on Thursday and found the kayak, which is about 18 feet long.
"The kayak was recovered and returned to the legal owner," Leahy said.
