Today's savings: Thousands
Have a child attending college? You can use that student's college registration receipt to get discounts on airline tickets, computers, software, cell phones, textbooks, insurance policies — anything a student may need during the time they are in college.
According to Cyrus Shepard, president of GlobeStudentDiscount.com, "as long as the parent is purchasing for their children, they save." Savings can range from 10 to 80 percent, and can extend to schoolteachers, too, who have educational identification.
"It's the biggest secret out there. Parents qualify for student discounts, too," Shepard said, as do students who are paying their own way.
Right now, Shepard's site points visitors to $100 savings on MacMall computers, 15 percent off Amtrak tickets and substantial savings on Spring Break vacation packages, among other things. To shop prices, go to globestudentdiscount.com
