RUMFORD — Between midnight June 22 and midnight June 29, Police Department officers responded to 77 complaints.

Arrests/summonses

 June 22 at 4:34 a.m. — 17-year-old Peru girl was charged by Patrolman Donald Miller with illegal possession of alcohol by a juvenile. She is scheduled to appear in Rumford Juvenile Court on Sept. 8.
June 24 at 4:39 p.m. — Stephen Bailey, 22, of Rumford was summoned by Sgt. Tracey Higley on a charge of terrorizing. Bailey is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug. 4.
June 25 at 5:25 a.m. — Leann Gibbs, 20, of Rumford was summoned by Cpl. Douglas Maifeld on a charge of illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. Gibbs is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug. 4.
June 26 at 1:37 a.m. — Adam Downs, 28, of Rumford was charged by Patrolman Donald Miller with violating conditions of release. Downs wasn't permitted to post bail and was taken to the Oxford County Jail. Downs is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Aug. 4.

Burglary

June 25 at 12:11 a.m. — Waldo Street resident reported someone attempted to gain entry into her apartment while she was away. Incident under investigation.

Accident

June 22 at 3:40 p.m. — Dylan Bellegarde, 17, of Rumford was driving a 2007 Chevrolet when he lost control on Hosmer Lane and struck a tree and a rock, resulting in approximately $5,000 damage to the vehicle.

June 27 at 10:06 a.m. — Gerard Vallee, 84, of Rumford was operating a 2005 Jeep when he ran off Route 108 and struck a rock ledge, totaling his vehicle. Vallee was taken to Rumford Hospital and assessed.
June 27 at 9:14 p.m. — Margaret Thornt, 39, of Hanover was operating a 2009 pickup when she was witnessed by Sgt. James Bernard striking a porti of a washed out road. Thornt and her passenger, Ivan Churchill, 40, of Rumford escaped injury after the vehicle subsequently was swallowed by the sinkhole due to rising water. The pickup was totaled.

Criminal mischief

June 24 at 2:19 p.m. — Washington Street resident reported $300 worth of damage to a car after the windshield was broken. Incident under investigation.
June 28 at 3:12 a.m. — Waldo Street resident reported $300 worth of damage to a car after the tires were slashed. Incident under investigation.

Wanted
