BUCKFIELD — Parents or guardians of children in Buckfield Junior-Senior High School must attend an informational session to learn the policies applicable to laptop computers before students can take them home.

Principal George Reuter said informational workshops will be held at the high school at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and Sept. 10.

All students in grades six through 12 will have access to laptop computers, and most will be able to bring them home once parents have attended informational sessions.

The annual open house for middle and high school students has also been scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 10.

This is the first year that the former SAD 39 will hold its annual open house under a new name. The former district joined with neighboring SAD 21 in Dixfield, and SAD 43 in Rumford officially on July 1 to become Western Foothills School District RSU 10.

Just over 3,000 students are enrolled in the 12-town district.
