Mexico police log

MEXICO — The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.

Accidents
A 2005 GMC pickup truck driven by Susan C. Buotte, 53, Porter Road, Dixfield, sustained $5,000 damage when a moose ran in front of it as Buotte was driving east on the River Road at 9:30 p.m. June 12. The injured moose was put down.
A 1993 Jeep sports utility vehicle driven by Rickey J. Kelley, 49, Maple St., Rumford, sustained $3,000 damage when it slammed into a cement wall on the Roxbury Road at 10:55 p.m. June 25. He was summoned on a charge of failure to report an accident.

Felony criminal use of explosives
A Middle Avenue resident reported at 10:29 a.m. June 14 that someone had thrown an acid bomb, contained in a two-liter bottle, onto his property earlier in the morning, causing damage to the door of his home. Police have leads.

Vandalism
A Mitchell Street resident reported at 1:38 p.m. June 21 that her home had been broken into sometime between June 19 and 21. About $200 damage was done. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
A Granite Street resident reported at 7 a.m. June 20 that someone entered her property the previous night and damaged several solar lights and a sign valued at about $50.
A Granite Street resident reported at 9:53 a.m. June 19 that someone had destroyed a taillight on her vehicle, valued at $250, that had been parked at the side of the street.
A Porter Bridge Road business reported at 9 a.m. June 19 that someone had shot out the headlights of two vans with a BB gun sometime the night before, causing about $400 damage.
A Granite Street resident reported at midnight June 19 that someone had smashed a gazing ball on her lawn valued at about $25 earlier in the evening.
A Highland Terrace resident reported at 6:22 a.m. June 11 that someone had bent his 15-foot flagpole sometime the night before, causing about $200 damage.
