Apollo Theater's amateur show dedicated to Jackson

NEW YORK (AP) - Tributes to the King of Pop continue at New York City's Apollo Theater, which has turned its weekly Amateur Night into a Michael Jackson celebration.

Sixteen-year-old Mike Rios was the first to demonstrate his moves when the Harlem theater's doors opened Wednesday night. The Elizabeth, New Jersey, boy wore a Jackson-inspired red jacket and pants. He grooved to Jackson's "Bad." The crowd cheered. A female audience member jumped on stage.

The Amateur Night show also features a moonwalking contest. And celebrity impersonator C.P. Lacey is paying homage to the pop legend, who died last week at age 50.

Hundreds of people lined up outside before the show.

The event follows Tuesday's Apollo memorial service. Thousands of fans including director Spike Lee watched a video tribute and danced to Jackson's songs.
